The Nome Common Council’s decisions are only as good as the comments they hear from citizens who go before it. Without any public input, on the record, the Council is getting away with inaction on some things or is forced to come up with its own conclusions and votes accordingly. This week’s council meeting saw a good turnout of citizens to unload their comments, pleas and demands on the governing body of this town. Only through active involvement can results be achieved that resonate with the public and are for the common good of all. Be active. Get involved. —D.H.—
